Hi all, hit a bit of a problem and hoping for some advice before i do anything.
I have lammed and hot coated the board both sides. Now sanding off the shine and grinding the boxes down. The Fusion boxes seem to be set quite nicely, at a nice depth I mean, for a first timer anyway! But I forgot to slit the cloth before the lam coats cured (to let air out) and now faced with the problem of course.
I have attached a photo. All i have done so far is sanded the whole bottom with 120 grit (after 60 to grind boxes down a bit).
There are 2 or 3 spots like the one in the photo.
My ideas so far are:
1. cut out the hole to clean and open up a bit, then just fill with some hot coat as the holes are small and i don't think will cause a structural problem.
2. cut and open up hole, paste in some q-cell and resin, then resand
3. any of the above then a patch of 4 oz over each box, hot coat and sand
i don't fancy the work involved with number 3, not due to laziness but cos i don't think the board really needs it, its a kids board and only a little over 5 foot, without much stress likely to see the board. but also the plugs do seem in pretty solid so i think i can get away with just focussed on the cosmetics of these bubbles, but open to advice from the pros as usual!
thanks guys
