Not sure if anyone else has discussed this before, can't find anything on it so guessing not. Besides, I doubt anyone is as much of a dumbfuck when it comes to making boards, especially sanding, as me :D
Every board I make i end up doing MINIMUM 2 hot coats, I have been known to do 6 :D (long story that one!). The reason is I burn through when sanding which I know everyone has trouble with at first, but I seem to be continually doing it. Since I know with almost 100% certainty I will sand off 50-80% of the first hot coat, why don't I just do a 1st hot coat with lam resin (no wax in styrene), then put a nice thin 2nd hot coat over that, then sand? The way I see it, it will save 2-3 hours of sanding as I don't have to sand the first layer.
Crazy idea or Something one or two other people do?
