Hey I am about to build me a CNC. The machine should be able to build Surfboards (hotwire and cut) but I want it to be a bit more general so that I also can use it for other projects. It's more a long term project. And I want to see how far I get. I attached two drawings which I designed by other machines I found in the internet and by the help of friends. But maybe some of you want to share experience and advices on how to build and/or use one. The first one is more restricted to only Surfboards and the second one is more a general aproach. Things I would be mostly interested in the moment are the right router bits and proper speeds for them. But of course I am also happy about any other recommendations.
